As a Substitute Teacher, you will step into classrooms when regular teachers are unavailable and help maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment. Substitute assignments may be available across various grade levels and subject areas, from elementary through high school. Responsibilities Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular classroom teacher. Provide instruction and classroom support across a variety of grade levels and subject areas. Maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment. Manage classroom behavior using positive and consistent behavior-management techniques. Engage students in assigned lessons, activities, discussions, and independent work. Monitor student attendance and follow school procedures for classroom activities and transitions. Provide appropriate support to students with different learning needs and abilities. Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties. Communicate with school administrators and staff regarding classroom activities, student concerns, or incidents. Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Leave appropriate notes or feedback for the regular teacher regarding the day's activities and any significant student or classroom concerns. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with students, staff, and school information. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or teaching experience is a plus. Previous experience working with children or students preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish positive relationships with students and maintain appropriate classroom boundaries. Strong classroom-management and organizational skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt quickly to different classroom environments. Comfortable working with students across different grade levels and learning needs. Ability to follow lesson plans and school instructions effectively. Patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Ability to work independently while collaborating with school administrators and staff. Experience working with students with disabilities or diverse learning needs is a plus.
