Substitute teachers work with another teacher in the classroom to supervise, guide play, and care for children (covering another teacher's 4-8 hour shift). Hours are inconsistent, based on the needs of the employer. The employer shares the substitute's availability and the staff contact the substitute when they are out sick or planning time off.
