DRUM INSTRUCTORPart-Time / Substitute | Boston Area Love drums? Love teaching? Love seeing a student suddenly "get it"? Join a well-established, fast-growing music school in the Boston area looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Drum Instructor to join our faculty. We're looking for a teacher who knows jazz and popular styles , enjoys working with students of all ages, and can make learning drums both fun and inspiring .

Option 1:
Wednesday & Thursday:
3-9
PM Friday:
2-7
PM Saturday:
9 AM-4 PM OR Option 2:
Monday & Tuesday:
3-8
PM Thursday:
3-9
PM Saturday:
9 AM-4 PM There is also opportunity for substitute teaching and additional hours as available.
WHAT YOU'LL TEACH
Work one-on-one with children ages 4+ and adults of all ages , from beginners through advanced students. Our instructors use customized programs that meet students where they are—while helping them build real musical skills and confidence. Depending on experience and interest, you may also: Lead bands and ensembles Teach hand percussion group classes (up to 6 students) Prepare students for performances and showcases Help students transition into bands and ensembles Participate in school recitals and events
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The right person is more than a great drummer—we're looking for a great teacher and mentor .
You should:
Love teaching , especially young children Be an experienced performer with strong knowledge of jazz and popular music Be comfortable teaching students of different ages, backgrounds and skill levels Know how to make lessons engaging, positive and fun Communicate professionally and effectively with students and parents Enjoy encouraging students to perform and grow as musicians Be dependable, organized and comfortable maintaining student records Be willing to participate in school performances and events as needed A music degree is not required . We value strong musicianship, teaching experience, performance experience, and—most importantly—the ability to connect with students. Additional instruments or experience leading bands/ensembles is a plus.

Our lessons and summer programs continue throughout the year, giving instructors the opportunity to build a consistent teaching schedule. Compensation is competitive and flexible, with higher rates available for more experienced instructors. A complete background check is required.
