Teacher. Crisis management training required.
Sub Separate teachers are special education teachers who provide specialized instruction in all academic and adaptive areas specific to each student's Individualized Education Plan. This job requires knowledge of Special Education testing and report writing, communicating with parents at team meetings, knowledge of data collection and progress monitoring, writing progress reports, consultation with general education teachers, and providing specialized instruction. This teacher will be responsible for the following: Providing a basic core program for emotionally impaired students and overseeing the development of behavioral management strategies.
Instructing individuals and groups in special education skills areas.
Planning curriculum, lessons, Special Education programs and teaching methods.
Analyzing and recording behavioral and academic skills and progress of students. Communicating those to students/parents/verbally and through written progress reports.
Establishing instructional and behavior objectives for students through the IEP process. Participate in student's IEP process and meetings.
Demonstrating effective classroom management techniques.
