Job Description

Per Diem Preschool Substitute Teacher:
Responsibilities
  • -Step in to teach preschool classes when the regular teacher is unavailable
  • Implement planned lessons and activities, ensuring a seamless continuation of the learning environment.
  • Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere for preschool-aged children.
  • Follow provided lesson plans and maintain the established daily routine.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children during all activities.
  • Communicate effectively with other teachers and staff to maintain consistency in the learning environment
  • Provide feedback on the day's activities and any notable incidents to the regular teacher.
Qualifications:
  • A CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education/ Child Development preferred.
  • At least 1-year experience working with young children ages 3-5 years.
  • Demonstrated ability to work physically with young children and ensure safety during indoor, outdoor, and emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with adults and children and to deal with the pressures of the field of Early Childhood Education.
  • Experience in long-term care for the elderly preferred.
Must obtain CPR, First Aid, Transportation, and Water Safety Trainings. Must attend the MRTQ Health and Safety Orientation training.
Schedule:
  • This position is on a per diem basis, and availability is required to cover absences as needed.
