Job Description

Lakeview School District is seeking a dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic GSRP Aide Substitute/Floater to support the District's Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Michigan's state-funded Pre-Kindergarten program for 4-year-olds. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide substitute and additional classroom support within the GSRP program. GSRP assignments will take priority. The employee will be assigned as needed to cover GSRP staff absences, vacancies, breaks, or other program staffing needs. When substitute or additional support is not needed within GSRP, the employee may be assigned to fill an open paraprofessional position or provide other student support within the building. Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a substitute or floater in GSRP classrooms based on daily program staffing needs.
  • Provide coverage for GSRP staff absences, vacancies, breaks, or other staffing needs as assigned.
  • Support classroom routines and assist with daily activities, meals, transitions, and student supervision.
  • Assist Lead and Associate Teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with children and support developmentally appropriate learning activities.
  • Engage with children during indoor and outdoor play and classroom experiences.
  • Assist with classroom setup, organization, and maintaining a clean and safe learning environment.
  • Follow all applicable licensing, grant, District, and GSRP program requirements.
  • When GSRP coverage is not needed, provide substitute or additional paraprofessional support within the building as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with GSRP staff, building staff, and administration.
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the position as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with preschool-aged or school-aged children preferred.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Mandated Reporter and Bloodborne Pathogens training preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire. Additional Requirements
  • Dependable and able to report to different classroom assignments based on daily staffing needs.
  • Flexible and comfortable working with different teachers, classrooms, and students.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to participate in physical activities with young children indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to provide appropriate supervision and assistance to students.
  • Ability to pass all state-required criminal history and comprehensive childcare background checks.
  • Complete all assigned annual MiRegistry courses, mandated program trainings, ECE orientation, and licensing required professional development.
  • Willingness to comply with all GSRP, childcare licensing, District, and building procedures.
Position Assignment This position is intended to provide flexible staffing support. GSRP staffing needs will receive first priority. The employee may be reassigned during the workday or from day to day based on GSRP program needs. When there is no GSRP absence, vacancy, or other identified need for additional GSRP support, the employee may be assigned to fill an open paraprofessional position or provide other student support within the building. Assignment outside of GSRP does not change the primary purpose of the position as a GSRP Aide Substitute/Floater. How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, copies of applicable early childhood credentials, unofficial transcripts, and completed application materials. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Equal Opportunity Employer Lakeview School District is an equal opportunity employer.
