Building Substitute Teachers are well-versed in the CEN model and are incredibly versatile employees. Building Subs must be aware of daily expectations and routines at each school building and are critical in ensuring that a day with a teacher absence runs smoothly for all students and staff. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work to establish and maintain positive relationships with students in all buildings across the district. Uphold all network and building-level expectations, regardless of school placement for the day. Follow the schedule provided. Use materials provided to attain daily lesson goals. Direct the classroom, accomplishing curriculum objectives and goals outlined in the lesson plans. Take attendance according to the procedures of the school, keep classroom and work orderly, and maintain normal classroom rhythms. Comply with all procedures, guidelines, and policies of the school at all times. Maintain a professional attitude in all manner of conduct with students, faculty, and parents, including a commitment to confidentiality. When not assigned to a specific classroom for the day, assist teachers, school leaders, and/or office staff with needed tasks. Other duties as assigned by the manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning preferred (minimum 60 college credit hours) Certificate in teaching preferred Detail oriented and able to follow written and/or oral instructions Able to communicate effectively with other personnel and faculty Able to cultivate relationships with pupils in a brief time period Confidence and capability in giving instruction in the absence of the regular teacher Possess the desire and willingness to develop own skill set and receive coaching Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain constructive group relationships Will successfully pass a criminal background check We ask our team to believe in, deliver on, and embody the following values: Be Child-Centered, Be Caring, Be Transformative, Be Accountable, and Be Anti-Racist The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
