Job Description

About STMA Schools We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district consists of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12. Position Overview & Responsibilities Responsible for preparing lessons, instructing students with a wide range of abilities, assessing student learning, collecting and analyzing student data to plan instruction, creating an engaging and respectful classroom environment, communicating with students, parent and multiple stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, supervising students, participating in school improvement initiatives and learning professionally. For more information, please see the job description for this position. Start date : October 19, 2026 (potential to start a day early for training)
FTE :
0.75 FTE (general schedule varies by days on students' schedules, but is roughly 9:30am-3:30pm each day; opportunity for additional daily substitute teaching work for the first class period of the day at the same pay rate but without additional benefits.)
Contract :
October 19, 2026-November 25, 2026 (potential to start a day early for training) Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education and required teaching certificate in related area(s) of instruction as required by the State of Minnesota, specific content knowledge, training or job experience required before appointment, and successful student teaching. Communication Arts/Literature (7-12 or 9-12) preferred.
Salary & Benefits Wages :
Long-Term Substitute Certified Staff Rate with appropriate Certification from
PELSB:
$194.72/6-hour day. $135-$153.75/6-hour day with short-call substitute license only, depending on how many days the applicant worked in a teaching assignment during the previous school year.
Benefits :
Available but without district contribution for fully certified teacher if contract days are less than 30; fully certified teachers with assignments longer than 30 days are entitled to District Contribution at the Part-Time 0.75 FTE benefit level. No benefits available with short-call substitute license. Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) will be provided as required by law for either license type.
