A Substitute Teacher teaches or supervises classes for teachers who are away on leave or sick. May substitute for teachers at several different schools or school districts. May substitute for one day or for a longer term absence; may follow lesson plans developed by the regular teacher, or work with teacher who will be out to create new lesson plans and assignments.

Job Description
- Deliver daily instruction based on provided lesson plans and adapt instruction as needed to meet student learning needs.
- Maintain a structured, organized, and positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and respect.
- Manage classroom behavior in alignment with school policies and expectations.
- Provide whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction to support diverse learners.
- Assess student understanding through assignments, observations, and informal assessments, and provide feedback as appropriate.
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
- Prepare instructional materials and maintain classroom organization and supplies.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with school staff regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom needs.
- Uphold the routines, procedures, and expectations established by the school and regular classroom teacher. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; teaching certification preferred.
- Prior teaching or classroom experience, preferably in an elementary school setting.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow lesson plans while demonstrating flexibility and initiative when needed.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
