POSITION OBJECTIVE
The substitute faculty member will deliver the provided curriculum and supervise children in any of the range of ages from 9th through 12th grade. The substitute is responsible for maintaining a safe learning environment for the students, managing basic student records, and upholding the Sion Mission on the High School campus of Notre Dame de Sion.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS
Must be available for on-call scheduling by 6:00am, the night before or advanced notice. Knowledge and understanding of and commitment to the Sion mission. 60 college credit hours minimum. Bachelor Degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills. Strong public speaking skills. Ability to interact professionally with students, parents, faculty and staff. Flexibility in working with a variety of faculty and students across the divisions. Ability to accept professional feedback. Strong ability to work collegially with the faculty and support team. Must demonstrate competency with school related technology.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Supervise students at the high school level Follow lesson plans as directed by the teacher Maintain a safe learning environment. Manage basic student records. Adhere to accommodation plans and food allergy interventions. All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time on own. Occasionally kneel, bend, stoop, and squat on own. Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Work in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
EXPECTATIONS
School work hours are 8:30 am to 3:45 pm for faculty unless otherwise instructed. Substitutes should report to the Front Desk to receive their assignment Faculty are expected to wear dress that reflects respect for the profession and the School. Jeans and Athletic wear of any kind are not appropriate, except on approved Spirit Days. Substitutes should make themselves familiar with Emergency evacuation routes posted in their rooms.
