THRIVE is seeking a dependable and flexible In-House Substitute Teacher to provide consistent classroom coverage across grades K-8. This role supports instructional continuity by stepping into classrooms when teachers are absent and assisting with other school-wide needs when substitute coverage is not required. The ideal candidate enjoys working with students, adapts easily to different grade levels and classroom settings, and is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. Responsibilities
Provide daily classroom coverage for absent teachers in grades K-8.
Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by classroom teachers.
Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful classroom environment.
Support student learning and manage behavior using school-approved practices.
Communicate effectively with teachers and school staff about student needs and classroom activities.
Assist with small groups, one-on-one student support, interventions, and enrichment as assigned.
Provide supervision during lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and transitions.
Assist with administrative tasks, school events, testing, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates must have:
A New Mexico Substitute Teacher License or a K-8 Teaching License
Criminal background clearance
Authorization to work in the United States
Prior experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred. Successful candidates will be dependable, flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working with students across grades K-8. Compensation & Benefits
Salary:
$34,020-$34,995, based on years of experience and licensure level.
