May substitute for one day or for a longer term absence; may follow lesson plans developed by the regular teacher, or work with teacher who will be out to create new lesson plans and assignments.

Love working with children? We're hiring Classroom Substitutes! At Knox County Head Start, our work is about more than the classroom. We help build strong children, strengthen families, and create stronger communities. We're looking for caring, dependable substitutes to support our classrooms across our five Knox County locations. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent staff members and have the ability to determine their own availability. This is a great opportunity to do meaningful work while making a real difference for local children and families. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a genuine love for working with children. Experience in a classroom is not required, we will provide the training you need.
