Para/Educational Aide/Student Attendant

Paraprofessional is needed for the High School. 6.5 hours p/day, 5 days p/week.

Qualifications:

Appropriate State of Ohio certification (Aide permit). Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid all students. Good health, high moral character & good attendance record. 18 years of age or older. Valid driver's license.

General Description:

Paraprofessional must possess the appropriate technical skills for the position. Provide educational support including tutoring, classroom management, organization of materials, and computer assistance for students under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher.

Essential Functions:

Provide assistance for students when requested by the student or supervising teacher. Is familiar and consistently adheres to the WCESC Policy Handbook, District Code of Conduct, classroom routine and structure and each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). As requested, will assist classroom teacher and related service providers in the development, implementation, and documentation of student's behavior plans and IEP goals and objectives. Assist student(s) participating in general education classes.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as a role model for students on how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings; Helps instill in students the believe in practice of ethical principals and democratic values; and Conducts other duties related to the paraprofessional's duties as assigned by the supervisor, principal, and / or the local superintendent of schools.

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions. Occasion interaction among unruly children.
