N/A Job Summary:
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a Christ-centered classroom environment and ensuring students continue their learning in the absence of the regular teacher. Duties include following lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
Qualifications:
Christian by profession and lifestyle, and a member of a local church in good standing. Minimum of a high school diploma. Basic knowledge of G Suite and Microsoft Office. Previous experience with children preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism. Flexibility in availability.
Essential Functions:
Follow the teacher's lesson plans and maintain the classroom environment. Model Christ-like behavior and promote students' spiritual growth. Ensure the classroom is neat, organized, and safe for students. Take attendance and report any concerns about student safety or well-being. Supervise students during transitions and ensure their safety at all times. Maintain confidentiality regarding student, parent, and staff information. Participate in emergency drills and report safety concerns to the appropriate individuals.
Physical Requirements:
This is a safety-sensitive position; employees may be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing. Ability to move around the classroom and supervise students. Must be able to lift light classroom materials and maintain student supervision during transitions.
