Job Description
Jasper Mountain operates a school at both agency sites, SAFE Center & Jasper Mountain Center. We are a K-8 private school operated by Jasper Mountain, a private non-profit agency which provides treatment services for traumatized children in residential and day treatment settings. Jasper Mountain School is registered through the Oregon Department of Education as a Private alternative school. The school works closely with Springfield Public Schools and specializes in students with serious mental health and behavioral issues. A Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred. Oregon Teaching license or equivalent required. Special Education Certification strongly preferred but not required. Experience and/or training in child development including the implications of child abuse and its effect on the learning styles and behavior of elementary school-aged children. A willingness to take feedback from the school Treatment Team to implement alternative and innovative instructional strategies for students with behavioral needs.
