JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide instructional and classroom support to maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment. Support student learning by implementing teacher-directed lesson plans, encouraging student participation, and providing appropriate supervision and assistance.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Hold a valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) teaching certification appropriate to the assignment, when required by RIDE, Preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide effective instruction and support student learning in a classroom setting. Ability to follow lesson plans and instructional directions provided by the classroom teacher and/or building administration. Ability to establish and maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment. Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel. Ability to utilize technology and instructional resources appropriate to the classroom assignment. Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the position as evidenced by education, teaching experience, related educational experience, and/or the interview process. Any such alternatives to the above qualifications as the committee may deem acceptable and appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement lesson plans and instructional activities in accordance with District goals and classroom expectations. Maintain a positive and effective learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation. Organize and supervise students to support effective instruction. Maintain classroom management strategies and established classroom routines. Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all students. Maintain confidentiality of student and school personnel information. Follow and support all school and District policies, procedures, and regulations. Follow oral and written directions and establish effective working relationships with students and staff. Promptly report student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline concerns to the appropriate administrator or designee. Perform other related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Per diem - $175/day
