September 14, 2026 Multiple Positions Available Language on Demand, Inc. (LOD) is seeking qualified K-12 Substitute Teachers to provide onsite support at the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School campus in Eagle Butte, South Dakota . Substitute Teachers will provide temporary classroom coverage when regular teachers are absent. Assignments may vary by day and may include elementary, junior high, E.A.G.L.E. Center, and high school classrooms. Candidates should be comfortable supporting a variety of grade levels and subject areas. Candidates with particular experience or expertise in specific grade levels or subject areas are encouraged to identify those strengths in their resume. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and successful completion of all required federal background screening and onboarding requirements . Responsibilities Provide classroom coverage for absent teachers. Follow lesson plans, classroom procedures, and school policies. Provide direct and indirect instructional support to K-12 students. Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment. Adapt to assignments involving different grade levels and subject areas. Maintain appropriate student supervision and classroom management. Report to the assigned school location on time and complete required daily sign-in/sign-out procedures. Comply with applicable school, federal, information-security, and student privacy requirements. Complete required training provided by the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE). Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet all of the following requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for this federal contract. At least one year of experience teaching or serving as a substitute teacher in a K-12 setting . Ability to work onsite in Eagle Butte, South Dakota . Ability to successfully complete a federal background investigation, including fingerprinting . Ability to support a variety of grade levels and subject areas. In addition, candidates must meet at least one of the following education or certification requirements: Hold a valid, unexpired teaching certificate issued by any U.S. state or territory; or Hold a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or Hold an associate degree or have successfully completed at least 60 semester hours at a college or university. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in Bureau-operated schools. Experience working in Tribal or reservation schools. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to accept assignments with reasonable notice and work flexibly based on school staffing needs. Experience or subject-area strength in one or more K-12 areas, such as English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Special Education, or Elementary Education. Background Screening Requirements Selected candidates must successfully complete all required federal suitability and background screening requirements before placement. The screening process includes, at a minimum: Fingerprinting National criminal history check Residence verification Employment history verification Education verification Reference checks Candidates must provide complete and accurate information and cooperate fully with the background investigation process. Health Requirements Candidates must be current and able to provide documentation, as required, for: MMR Tdap/Td Polio Annual negative TB test Work Schedule Assignments are based on school staffing needs and teacher absences. Substitute Teachers may be asked to work a full school day, typically from approximately 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM . The number and frequency of assignments may vary and are not guaranteed .
