We are a flexible, faith-woven hybrid community that prioritizes "productive struggle," project-based learning, and real-world skills over traditional memorization. We serve families who want academic rigor without sacrificing their autonomy or their child's happiness. The Role We are looking for flexible, energetic Substitute Staff to jump in when our lead instructors (who are practitioners in their fields—think working scientists and business owners) need to step away. This isn't about handing out worksheets. As a sub at Alight, you'll be: Supporting students through hands-on projects (maker projects, science experiments, etc.). Facilitating small-group discussions in literacy, math, or history. Supervising "Lunch and Recess" blocks where connection and play are the priority. Maintaining a classroom environment that balances rigor with joy and community. What We're Looking For A "Practitioner"
