TKS:
TKS is a culturally and socially diverse community, promoting ongoing learning and growth in and out of the classroom. Small class sizes (typically 8-16) mean more individualized attention for our students and more manageable workloads for our teachers.
Substitute Teacher Job Description:
Grades PK-4 (Lower School): Work independently in a self-contained classroom while collaborating with other teachers to implement pre-planned lessons across subjects; Grades 5-8 (Middle School): Work with another teacher to implement pre-planned lessons in either Math/Science or Humanities; Communicate with Administrators regarding students glows and grows; Manage student behavior and classroom routines to maximize learning time and create a positive classroom environment; Celebrate student progress and effort each day.
Qualifications/Skills:
Professional teaching experience in schools; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; in some cases, a teacher-in-training (finishing a degree in Education) may be considered; Adaptable and comfortable stepping into an unfamiliar classroom with little notice; Strong communicator with students, staff, and, when needed, families; Reliable and punctual, with quick response time when called for coverage; Patient and even-tempered under the unpredictability of the day; Ability to work collaboratively, with regular observation/feedback cycles; Willingness to support the culture and institutional policies and procedures of the school; Demonstrated success working in a high-performing private school setting preferred; A level of flexibility and a love of teaching young children; Background check and any state-required clearances current
Pay Rate:
