Substitute Teacher Community Montessori School Community Montessori School is seeking warm, dependable, and flexible Substitute Teachers to support our Montessori classroom communities across multiple age levels. Substitute Teachers may provide coverage for a classroom Guide or Assistant, depending on the school's needs. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, adapts well to different classroom environments, and helps maintain a safe, calm, respectful, and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities Support the safety, supervision, and well-being of students throughout the school day Maintain calm, respectful, and developmentally appropriate learning environments Support classroom routines, transitions, and daily operations Help maintain organized classroom environments, including classroom materials and shared spaces Foster positive, respectful interactions with students and staff Follow school procedures, classroom plans, supervision expectations, and safety protocols Communicate and collaborate effectively with school staff to support student success Position Details Substitute / As-Needed Non-Exempt On-Site $120/full day | $60/half day Assignments may be scheduled in advance or offered on short notice Assignments and hours are based on school needs and are not guaranteed Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Two years of higher education or two years of relevant experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, youth program, or similar setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively and follow classroom direction Ability to engage with students in a positive, respectful, and supportive manner Ability to meet all applicable background check and regulatory requirements CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain Ability to complete required annual professional development hours Preferred Montessori classroom experience Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and child development Experience working with multiple age groups Work Environment & Physical Demands This position requires active supervision of students in indoor and outdoor environments and frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and movement throughout the school day.
