St. Christopher's Episcopal School is hiring a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic After-School Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Our after-school program serves children from toddlers through third grade. We are looking for someone who enjoys actively engaging with children and can create a safe, positive, and well-structured environment at the end of the school day. This is a part-time, school-year position with the possibility of additional hours as a substitute teacher during the regular school day. Substitute opportunities will depend on the candidate's availability, qualifications, and the school's needs. Primary Responsibilities Provide attentive supervision and maintain a safe, nurturing environment. Lead age-appropriate activities such as crafts, games, STEM projects, reading, and outdoor play. Help elementary students complete homework and provide academic support when needed. Encourage respectful behavior and positive relationships among students. Assist with snacks, transitions, dismissal, and other daily routines. Keep classrooms and activity spaces clean, orderly, and ready for use. Follow school policies, Texas child-care licensing requirements, and safety procedures. Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, families, and coworkers. Qualifications At least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED Previous experience working with children preferred Able and willing to participate actively in children's play and learning Dependable, punctual, patient, and able to work as part of a team Able to pass all required criminal-background checks Willing to complete Safe Church training Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification after hire Position Schedule Monday through Friday 2:15-5:30 p.m. School-year position Follows the St. Christopher's Episcopal School calendar, including scheduled holidays and school breaks Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.
