Job Description
The Goodwill Excel Center Adult High School is currently seeking a Substitute Teacher for our Billy Moore Campus, located at 8500 FM 3053, Overton, TX 75684 . TDCJ. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 60+ college credit hours, Bachelor s or higher degree from an accredited university is required. All substitute teacher applicants must submit proof of an official accredited college transcript (showing the degree conferred or the minimum of 60+ college hours) OR a valid Texas Teacher Certificate from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) General knowledge of possible assigned subject areas. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior in a correctional facility setting. Ability to follow oral and written directions. Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies. Must be able to understand work instructions in English. Must possess the essential mindset that all students can achieve at high levels. Must possess understanding of marginalization and how it impacts those Goodwill serves and employs. Must be able to successfully pass a background check and complete fingerprinting requirement.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current Texas Teaching Certification. 1+ years of experience providing instruction to adults.Compensation:
Compensation for this position is a daily rate of: Full Days- $160 (4 or more hours) Half Days
