Key Responsibilities
Execute lesson plans left by absent teachers.
Seek additional guidance from teachers and administrators when needed.
Establish positive and professional relationships with students while maintaining a respectful, fair, and productive classroom culture.
Use technology as directed by the lesson plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge / Skills
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Ability to instruct students and effectively manage classroom behavior.
Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and flexibility skills.
Qualifications
Associate degree or at least 60 college/university credit hours.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Bachelor's degree and Texas Teaching Certification preferred but not required.
The State Board of Education requires all school personnel to complete fingerprinting as part of a national criminal background check. A $49.00 fingerprinting fee applies.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional, non-smoking school environment that may be busy with moderate noise and frequent interruptions. Employees routinely use standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals, telephones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
