Summary We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Permanent Substitute at Orange County High. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment while providing continuous support to both students and faculty. The ideal candidate will be able to step into various classroom settings, ensuring that educational objectives are met and that students remain engaged and motivated. Responsibilities Fill in for teachers during their absences, delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and maintaining classroom order. Engage students in learning activities, ensuring that they understand the material and are actively participating. Support students with diverse learning needs and adapt instructional strategies as necessary. Collaborate with school staff to implement effective classroom management techniques and maintain a positive learning environment. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty regarding student progress and classroom activities. Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices. Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere for all students. Monitor student behavior and address any issues promptly and appropriately. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including grading assignments and maintaining student records. Requirements Previous experience in a classroom setting, preferably as a substitute teacher or teacher's aide. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Flexibility and adaptability to work in various subject areas and grade levels. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes and classroom management. Background check and clearance to work in a school environment.
