Job Description

Substitute Teachers For school year 2022/23 Olympia Waldorf School is a non-profit preschool through 8th grade alternative school serving Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, and the surrounding area. We are seeking warm, nurturing, and helpful substitutes for both our Grades and Early Childhood classes. •Grades sub candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and experience working with children. Previous experience in a Waldorf school is a plus. •Early Childhood substitutes should have prior experience working with preschool-aged children and be certified by DCYF to work with young children (or be willing to, we will help you with your certification process). Patience, kindness, and understanding are important traits for those working with our young children. Previous experience in a Waldorf school is a plus. A flexible schedule is preferred, as we often need substitutes to fill in on short notice. Upon hire, we will perform a background check and verify COVID vaccination status. We do require mask use at all times. School:
Olympia Waldorf School is a full member AWSNA and WECAN school that serves students from preschool through eighth grade. Our faculty is comprised of three early childhood teachers and assistants, eight grades teachers, specialty teachers, and a full administrative staff.
Campus and Community:
Olympia Waldorf School was founded in 1985 and is situated on 5.6 acres of field, garden, and woodland in semi-rural East Olympia. Our campus includes Prairie Hall, a historic school building built in 1914 and opened in 1916, a modern Middle School building, and a charming Kinderhaus.
