I-1433 Sick Leave, the employee will accrue at least one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every forty (40) hours worked.Washington Paid Family Medical Leave Required Qualifications:
Valid Washington State teaching certification appropriate with endorsement WSP/FBI background and fingerprint clearance (fee paid by the employee) Student teaching or contracted teaching experience in a secondary setting Experience and training in effective assessment strategies Excellent communication skills Willingness and ability to teach electives Regular attendance is an essential function of this position The safety and health of students and others is an essential function of this positionPreferred Qualifications:
Secondary school teaching experience Possess strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated organizational and classroom management skills Ability to motivate and challenge high school students Flexibility and willingness to work as a team playerDuties and Responsibilities:
Meet and instruct assigned classes in the location and at the time designated Develop lesson plans and instructional material and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for individual interests and learning styles of students Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and be able to communicate these objectives for all lessons using district-approved curriculum Use instructional methods and materials consistent with models of the building instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives Effectively utilize district technology appropriate to the position and assume responsibility for attending district training needed to successfully perform designated responsibilities as directed by supervisor. Evaluate pupil's academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports and report cards. Comply with District rules and regulations Effectively communicates with parents in a variety of ways Actively participates with faculty, staff and administration through Professional Learning Communities.
