Role:

Hello, Special Education Aides! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Aide for a school setting in Opelika, AL. In this role, you'll play a critical role in supporting students with their daily academic, mobility, personal care, and self-help needs while promoting independence, safety, and success throughout the school day.

What You'll Do:

Assist students with feeding, toileting, personal hygiene, and other self-help skills. Support student mobility and safe movement throughout the school campus. Assist with transporting assistive technology devices and student materials as needed. Provide support with classroom activities, reading, and other curriculum-related tasks under teacher guidance. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material introduced by the special education teacher. Accompany students to the school office, nurse, and other areas as needed. Build supportive, professional relationships that encourage student independence and success. Participate in student support meetings and in-service training programs as requested. Perform additional classroom duties and assignments to support an effective and safe learning

What We're Looking For:

Must hold an Associate's degree, OR Have completed at least 48 semester hours at a regionally accredited institution of higher education, OR Have successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education-approved WorkKeys test. Strong communication and collaboration skills School-based experience preferred, not required
