Job Description

Summary:
Classroom Teacher Assistants are responsible for supporting Classroom Teachers within Full Spectrum Learn & Play's inclusive classrooms. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, preparing materials, supporting routines and transitions, supervising children, and helping maintain a supportive and engaging classroom environment. Teacher Assistants may float between classrooms based on program needs and are expected to work collaboratively with all teaching staff to support classroom consistency, flexibility, and child success. Teacher Assistants are expected to help foster a space that promotes curiosity, play-based learning, social-emotional development, and individualized support for children of all developmental levels. The Classroom Assistant(s) report directly to the Classroom Teacher(s) and Site Director(s).
Knowledge of:
  • Principles and practices in early childhood education
  • Basic behavior support and positive reinforcement strategies
  • Safety and health practices in an early childhood setting
  • Developmentally appropriate expectations across age groups
  • Professionalism and ethical practices within an educational setting
  • English grammar, punctuation, and spelling Skills & Abilities to: (Other duties may be assigned.
) Support Classroom Teachers in implementing daily activities, routines, and lesson plans Assist with preparing classroom materials, activities, and learning centers Supervise and engage with children during lessons, play, meals, transitions, and outdoor activities Float between classrooms as needed to provide support based on staffing and classroom needs Support children with varying developmental levels, learning styles, and support needs Help maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and overall flow throughout the day Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes social-emotional development Collaborate effectively with teachers and team members to maintain consistency across classrooms Communicate professionally with families and staff members Uphold ethical and professional standards in accordance with the mission of Full Spectrum Learn & Play Attend and contribute to team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities Implement basic cleaning practices to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for children
Education/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. At least two-years related experience and/or training.
Certificates and Licenses:
Fingerprint Clearance Card CPR/First Aid/AED Certification Valid driver's license Proof of automobile insurance Ability to pass a comprehensive background check (preferred) Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate in good standing with the
BACB Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
