POSITION SUMMARY
Provide mathmatics interventions/instruction individually or in small groups by implementing lessons or instructional activities designed in collaboration with the classroom teacher to meet the students' academic needs. Perform limited clerical functions directly related to the instructional assignment for the purpose of instructing students (i.e. preparing materials, maintaining instructional records for student files, communicating with teachers, etc.)
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide mathematics interventions/instruction individually or in small groups by implementing lessons or instructional activities designed in collaboration with the classroom teacher to meet the students' academic needs. Work with the classroom teacher to develop a schedule for delivery of instructional services. Perform limited clerical functions directly related to the instructional assignment for the purpose of instructing students (i.e. preparing materials, maintaining instructional records for student files, communicating with teachers, etc.) Monitor and record student progress. Attend Family Nights as needed. Participate in the planning time with the classroom teacher and others working with the students. Administer tests to assess student achievement. Attend staff meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Skill in preparing instructional aids and plans. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Ability to provide activities for children that encourage healthy growth. Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children. Child supervision skills.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS PREFERRED
Experience with progress monitoring. Experience with Excel.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Must have an Associate's degree or greater or 60+ semester hours of coursework documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or Meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through the passage of a formal state approved assessment listed below within 90 days of hire: Para Pro Assessment First Aid and CPR certification required within 90 days of hire. Must be able to attain an Arizona IVP (Fingerprint Clearance) Card.
