FromAdmin=true&AppliTrackJobId=447&AppliTrackLayoutMode=detail&AppliTrackViewPosting=1 The Reach Associate (RA), under the guidance of instructional staff, harnesses relationships with students and staff to facilitate student learning. This role is designed for an aspiring educator who excels in non-traditional settings, facilitating individualized graduation paths for students with untapped potential. RAs have the opportunity to directly interact with students as they engage in learning relevant to their individualized goals. RAs also assist in organizing, managing, and creating a productive, safe, and positive classroom atmosphere, including managing transitions and reducing distractions. RAs contribute to consistent access to education so that every student—no matter how long they are with us—can make progress and plan for what comes next.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with team to assess students' ongoing academic and social-emotional progress. Collaborate with team to evaluate students' learning styles and preferences, and academic and social-emotional goals in order to create personalized education plans. Collaborate with team to devise special strategies, including the use of digital learning or technology, as appropriate, for reinforcing skills and concepts based on the understanding of individual students and their needs, interests and abilities. Instruct individual students, groups of students or classes of students in curricular areas. Teach planned lessons using a variety of resources and materials including 1:1 computers, virtual reality, games, toys, and other hands-on manipulatives for conceptual understanding. Collaborate with classroom teachers to assess learning and communicate results to students, parents and other professionals. Supervise detained youth and be responsible for the safety, personal conduct, care, and rehabilitation of the youth. Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card Technology proficiency High School Diploma or GED AND meet one of the following: Minimum of 60 college credit hours earned Associate Degree Successful completion and passage of the approved ParaPro Assessment
PREFFERED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree Working in schools English as a Second Language endorsement Experience working in secure care or self-contained environments
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
Maricopa County Regional School District works in partnership and is a guest of the Durango Juvenile Detention Center. To comply with Durango Juvenile Detention Center's staffing requirements, candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Ability to work and make decisions effectively and independently with minimal supervision, enabling the team to meet student achievement targets Knowledge of digital learning programs, strategies for troubleshooting, and online data reporting may be required for certain assignments Skilled at soliciting and receiving feedback from supervisor and team members to improve professional skills Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all school personnel Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
