Before & After-School Program Aide Valley Christian Schools - 3.7 Bellflower, CA Job Details Part-time From $16.90 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Collaboration First Aid Certification Working with students Camp experience Full Job Description Overview Valley Christian Elementary School is seeking a part-time Daycare Aide for our Before & After School care program for the 2026-27 school year. The Daycare Aide will be responsible for maintaining a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered environment for students to grow and learn. (S)He will plan weekly grade specific activities for his/her group and provide childcare after school during the school year. Responsibilities Assist in planning, developing, and leading educational programs, including homework tutoring sessions and recreational activities. Sign students in and out of the daycare program utilizing iPad technology Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among students. Supervise students during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Collaborate with fellow staff members to create an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from all students. Serve daily snack and maintain cleanliness of facility. Lead morning devotion and prayer with daycare participants Monitor the playground to ensure the safety of students; secure campus at the end of each workday. Qualifications Experience working with children is required; in settings such as daycare, camp, or tutoring environments is preferred. Proactive team member with the ability to work with minimal supervison The ability to implement effective behavior management techniques and mediate conflict between students. Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held is required. Willing to come in from 7a-8a and/or 3p-6p Creative, adaptable, and friendly deameanor to relate to children Good interpersonal communication skills Exhibits Fruit of the Spirit Ability to engage students through various interests Active membership/attendance at a Protestant Christian church (preferably CRC or RCA denomination) is required.
