Job Description

Monty's Montessori Academy is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our team! We are currently considering both part-time and full-time candidates . We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children, works well as part of a team, and is excited to support a positive, nurturing classroom environment.

Assistant Teacher Schedule:
Part-Time or Full-Time Pay:
$17.00-$20.00 per hour , depending on education, completed ECE units, and experience Education Requirements Applicants must have completed a minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) / Child Development units . Candidates with 12 or more completed ECE units are strongly encouraged to apply. Please do not apply if you have not completed at least 6 ECE units. Responsibilities The Assistant Teacher will work alongside the Lead Teacher and other classroom staff to: Provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment for children Assist with daily classroom routines and activities Support Montessori-inspired lessons and classroom activities Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities Assist with meals, snacks, toileting/diapering, and rest time as appropriate for the age group Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom Prepare and organize classroom materials Encourage independence, positive behavior, and age-appropriate social skills Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, coworkers, and administration Follow all school policies and California Community Care Licensing requirements Maintain appropriate supervision and ensure children's health and safety at all times Be dependable and maintain consistent attendance Qualifications Minimum of 6 completed ECE/Child Development units required Previous experience working with children in a preschool or childcare setting preferred Must be patient, dependable, professional, and able to work as part of a team Must be comfortable working with young children and assisting with all aspects of their daily care Must be able to successfully complete required Live Scan/background clearance Must meet all applicable California childcare licensing requirements CPR/First Aid certification preferred Ability to lift, bend, sit on the floor, and actively participate in classroom activities What We're Looking For We want someone who understands that working with children is more than simply supervising them. Our Assistant Teachers are an important part of the classroom team. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, supports the Lead Teacher, builds positive relationships with students, and can be counted on to show up ready to work each day. Part-time and full-time opportunities are available.
