INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT
•Special Education (Mild/Moderate) $20.75
•$25.20 BASIC
FUNCTION
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, assist certificated staff in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of special education students with mild to moderate disabilities in a classroom setting; assist students with developing behavioral skills; perform a variety of instructional support activities to assist students in learning curriculum. Current positions work 205 days per year at a school site; anticipated hours will be 6 hours per day, five days per week.
INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT
•Special Education (Moderate/Severe) $20.75
•$25.20 BASIC
FUNCTION
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, assist certificated staff in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of special education students with severe physical and/or cognitive disabilities in a classroom setting, job site and/or community based program; assist students with daily living activities and developing behavioral skills; perform a variety of instructional support activities to assist students in learning curriculum. Current positions work 205 days per year at a school site; anticipated hours will be 6 hours per day, five days per week.
INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT
•Special Education (Behavioral Intervention) $21.78
•$26.48 BASIC
FUNCTION
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, assist certificated staff in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of special education students with significant aggressive and/or other behavioral difficulties in a classroom setting, job site and/or community based program; assist students with daily living activities and developing behavioral skills; perform a variety of instructional support activities to assist students in learning curriculum. Current positions work 205 days per year at a school site; anticipated hours will be 6 hours per day, five days per week.

Entrance Qualifications:
Certificates:
Possession of valid First Aid and Child/Infant/Adult CPR certificates issued by a recognized agency. Online certificates accepted through redcross.org or a-b-cpr.com.
AND NCLB
Option 1: Completion of at least 48 semester units of study at an accredited college or have obtained an Associates (or higher) degree. OR NCLB Option 2: Complete and pass an assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics OR reading, writing, and mathematics readiness. Some of the positions are eligible for employee shared contributions toward health, dental, vision, and life. The district also pays for sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays.
