Working closely with both a vision specialist and an RSP Teacher, youll help foster a safe, inclusive classroom while supporting braille learning. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:55am11:30am, making this position ideal for individuals seeking a rewarding role with a flexible midday schedule.

Key Qualifications:

Experience working or volunteering in school settings, particularly as a paraprofessional Familiarity or willingness to learn support strategies for students with visual impairments Comfort assisting with braille instruction, guided by experienced specialist staff Strong communication skills to coordinate with educators, specialists, and students Patience, empathy, and a passion for inclusive education

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to a kindergarten student, ensuring their safety and engagement throughout the school morning Facilitate access to curriculum materials in braille, following lesson plans created by the vision specialist and RSP Teacher Help with classroom transitions and activities, ensuring accommodations are in place Offer encouragement and guidance to promote the students independence and confidence Communicate regularly with the educational team regarding student progress and needs This is more than just a jobits an opportunity to empower young learners at a formative age.
