We are a tight knit group of families and educators working together to create an environment full of love, learning, joy, wonder, exploration, and discovery for children 2-5 years of age. Using play and project-based learning as the core of our curriculum, we create beautiful learning environments where teachers and children are able to be the best versions of themselves. We love what we do and it comes through in every aspect of our program. We have a unique position available. We are looking for a warm, flexible, and dependable team member to provide additional physical and classroom support throughout the school day. This person will work alongside our teachers and director to help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and build relationships. The position would be in person, M-F, 9:00-2:00, but hours could be somewhat flexible. Twelve ECE units preferred but not required. We are also interested in someone with a background or training in a field such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, or behavioral support.
General TeacherResponsibilities:
Support teachers in creating a warm, safe, and supportive classroom environment. Provide additional support when children are experiencing challenging behaviors, helping teachers maintain a calm and responsive environment. Step in one-on-one or in small groups when a teacher needs focused attention elsewhere. Be a warm, patient, and responsive presence who follows KBTS's relationship-based, play-based approach. Communicate with teachers and administration about children's needs, classroom dynamics, and situations that may require additional support. Support teachers with the physical aspects of caring for children, including handwashing, meals, rest time, and daily routines. Assist with lifting, bending, carrying, reaching, and other physical tasks as needed. Help supervise indoor and outdoor play, transitions, and classroom activities. Support classroom setup and cleanup, including preparing materials, organizing spaces, and restoring the classroom and outdoor environment. Assist with light cleaning and classroom upkeep, including wiping tables, sweeping, sanitizing, and keeping indoor and outdoor areas tidy. Be flexible and willing to jump in wherever physical or classroom support is needed.
