Job Description
Assistant Teacher — Part-Time Midday Support Lilac Montessori | Escondido, CA Lilac Montessori is a small, relationship-based Montessori program serving children ages 18 months-5 years. We are looking for an energetic, reliable, and flexible Assistant Teacher to provide support during the busiest part of our school day. This is a great role for someone who enjoys working with young children, can move easily between classrooms and responsibilities, and is comfortable jumping in wherever support is needed. Schedule Part-time, approximately 11:00 AM-3:00 PM We have some flexibility and are happy to work around the right person's schedule Monday-Friday preferred, but we are open to discussing availability Responsibilities Provide midday support in Toddler and Primary classrooms Cover staff breaks and assist teachers throughout the day Help with lunch, transitions, outdoor time, toileting, and handwashing Support children during rest and nap time Help prepare, clean, and reset classroom spaces Step in wherever needed to help the day run smoothly Provide warm, attentive, and professional care to children We're Looking for Someone Who Is energetic, positive, and comfortable staying busy Is flexible and willing to help wherever needed Is dependable, consistent, and punctual Works well as part of a small team Takes direction well and communicates professionally Can remain calm and patient in an active early-childhood environment Enjoys working with young children Previous childcare or early childhood experience is preferred ECE units are preferred but not required Must meet all applicable California licensing requirements for the position Compensation $19-$21/hour, depending on experience and qualifications Start date: ASAP This position is ideal for someone looking for a consistent part-time schedule who enjoys being a flexible support person — helping with breaks, transitions, nap, classroom flow, and all the little things that keep the school day running smoothly.
