We are looking for a warm, dependable Preschool Teacher to join our Primary classroom team. This role is ideal for someone who already has hands-on experience working with young children and feels comfortable stepping into the daily rhythm of a preschool classroom. You'll work alongside our existing teachers to support children throughout the day, help maintain classroom flow, and provide an additional steady adult presence in the environment. Montessori experience is welcome but not required. We are happy to support someone who is interested in learning our approach. Schedule Monday-Friday Approximately 8:00 AM-3:00 PM or 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Some flexibility for the right candidate Start date: ASAP Responsibilities Work collaboratively with our preschool teaching team Support children during the morning work cycle, outdoor time, lunch, transitions, rest, and afternoon activities Help maintain a calm, organized, and respectful classroom environment Support children with toileting, handwashing, meals, and other daily routines Assist with classroom preparation, cleanup, and resetting materials Help provide staff break coverage as needed Supervise and engage groups of children with confidence Communicate clearly with fellow teachers and respond to the needs of the classroom Notice what needs to be done and step in proactively We're Looking for Someone Who Has hands-on experience working with preschool-aged children Has experience in a childcare, preschool, or early childhood classroom setting Has completed ECE/Child Development coursework or is actively working toward completing required units Is dependable, punctual, and consistent Is warm and engaging with children while maintaining clear boundaries Takes direction and feedback well Has good classroom awareness and initiative Can remain calm and flexible during busy transitions Is comfortable with toileting, meals, rest time, outdoor play, and classroom cleanup Works well as part of a small, collaborative team Is interested in learning Montessori principles and practices Compensation $20-$23/hour, depending on experience, education, and qualifications Benefits Health insurance for eligible employees Paid time off Professional development assistance Opportunities for growth within our Montessori program Lilac is a small school, so every member of our team plays an important role.
