Job Summary ICARE Support Living Services is seeking a dedicated and energetic ILS Instructor / Direct Support Provider SLS to join our team in empowering individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities. In this role, you will deliver individualized instruction based on the principles of the Individualized Living Skills (ILS) program, fostering independence and enhancing quality of life. You will provide direct support to clients, assist with daily activities, and promote social engagement within home and community settings. Responsibilities Implement personalized ILS plans to teach essential life skills such as communication, self-care, socialization, and community participation. Provide direct support with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Assist clients with transportation needs using personal vehicles or agency-provided transportation to appointments, community outings, or activities. Collect and document data on client progress, behavior management strategies, and skill acquisition to ensure continuous improvement of services. Support clients in developing social skills and fostering positive interactions within their community environments. Monitor behavioral health needs by applying behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies as necessary. Maintain clear communication with team members, families, and other service providers to coordinate care effectively. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus for effective communication with clients who use sign language. Background in behavioral health or home & community care is desirable. Ability to operate standard passenger cars safely and confidently for client transportation purposes. Prior experience supporting clients with cognitive disabilities or assisting with ADLs in a caregiving capacity. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications related to medication administration or data collection are advantageous. A valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation are necessary for client outings and community engagement.
