$23/hour Administrative time rate: $17/hour Hours vary by school site and program About the Position Town Hall Education is hiring Assistant Teaching Artists for onsite classes and offsite in- and after-school programming. Town Hall Education is the education department at Town Hall Theatre Company in Lafayette. THEd is a process-based program committed to serving students from preschool age through adulthood. Our core values lie in student empowerment and building connection, empathy, trust, and collaboration. We believe all of these lessons can be learned through theatre education and applied in everyday life. Assistant Teaching Artists report to the Lead Teaching Artist and the Residency Manager or Education Coordinator in the Education Department. Main Duties Assist Lead Teaching Artist in achieving goals set for each rehearsal and program. Implement a safe, inclusive, and process-based classroom built to create learning opportunities that specifically draw upon the Skill Building focuses outlined for their program. Maintain positive parent-teacher and student-teacher relationships. Participate in Professional Development and Staff Trainings throughout the year. Attend any and all production meetings arranged by the Education Director or direct Head of Department. Experience No previous experience required except a passion for youth education. Interest and/or current practice in one or more of the following disciplines: theatre; playwriting; directing; vocal and instrumental performance; dance or movement performance; set, costume, or lighting design.
