Job Summary Job Summary Under general supervision, to assist, tutor and monitor students individually, in groups or in a classroom learning environment, following a prescribed course of study; to oversee and supervise students; to provide an intensified learning experience for students in assigned areas; to perform a variety of clerical and supportive tasks for personnel in a variety of general education classes both outside and inside the classroom and perform related work as required. Incumbents in this classification work in general education classrooms and are established principally to relieve teachers of certain instructional tasks and routine details in order to bring intensive and more concentrated study or learning opportunities to students. Incumbents perform their tasks with initiative and independent judgement within a limited number of standardized procedures.Requirements / Qualifications
SUBSTITUTE ASSISTS FOR GENERAL EDUCATION AND SPECIAL EDUCATION INTERVENTION
(6 hours per day - Substitute Assignments)Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Under the requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) - Minimum of two years of college or technical school or an Associate of Arts degree demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in the classroom and assist teacher in instructing in the core areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Skill in administration and interpretation of occupational therapy assessment procedures, development of appropriate goals and objectives, lesson planning

Interested applicants are required to submit the following:- Copy of High school diploma or equivalent.
- Copy of college transcripts to verify two years of college; or an Associate of Arts degree or higher demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in the classroom and assist teacher in instructing in the core areas of reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Copy of CPR/First Aid Certification
