REQUIREMENTS
- Meets experience criteria required by state
- participate in the on-the-job training programs provided by the licensee
- provide direct care and supervision to children in care
- Ensure all children are signed in and out daily
- Perform health screening for each child
- Perform 15 minute sleep checks and logs
- Change sheets daily used by infants in the cribs
- Review and implement Infant Needs and Services Plan for children under two years old with the assistance of the infant's authorized representative at least every 3 months
- Review and implement Infant Sleep Plan (LIC9227) for children under 12months old with the assistance of the infant's authorized representative Educational and additional qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age 18 years old
- 12
- core units of ECE or
- CDA or child development associate teacher permit
- 3 units of ECE related to infant and toddler development Meets additional criteria required by the state upon hire
- Health Screen (LIC 503) and TB clearance ( with in 7 days)
- Mandated reported as required by law every 2 years
- Sexual Harassment as required by law every 2 years
- Pesticide Training as required and maintained annually
- Proof of immunizations records (MMR, Tdap)
- Flu shot record or signed waiver form annually
- Proof of Mandated Reporter certificate every 2 years
- Personnel Records (LIC 501)
- Employee Rights (LIC 9052)
- DOJ, FBI and CACI Fingerprint Clearance or Finger Print Transfer Request (LIC 9182)
- CPR & First Aid certified (infant/child/ adult) must meet state requirement below
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential with appropriate age level endorsement issued by CDA National Credentialing Program of the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition and 6 month on the job training/or work experience in a licensed child care center
- Child Development Associate Teacher Permit, Teacher Permit or Master Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- 12 core units in Early childhood education must include child/human growth & development; child/family/community or child and family relations; and programs/curriculum. You must have a minimum of three semester units or four quarter units in each of the core areas.
- EMSA Licensed Child Care Pediatric (infant,child,adult) CPR & First Aid 8 hours to meet State requirements EMSA Approved ( every two years)
General Responsibilities:
- Ensuring children are signed in and out daily
- Mandated reporter
- Daily inspection of illness of children
- Provide care and supervision of children
- Engage with current and prospective parents and family members and is responsive to their needs; provides customer service and builds trust
- Comply with BK and all governmental regulations regarding the care of infants
- Understand responsibilities as a mandated reporter
- Keep the Director informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of infants
- Arrive to the workplace regularly and on time, follows appropriate call in procedures and is dependable overall
- Complete timely and accurate documentation according to BK and other licensing or regulation requirements
- Assist and accept responsibilities in other daily center duties that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available
- Use time wisely and take initiative when appropriate
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, Teacher -in- Service Training Days, center events, and parent/customer meetings as required
- Adhere to and act in line with company mission and values at all times
- Provide appropriate role modeling to fellow staff members
- Greet infant and parents at drop off and pick up, as applicable
- Be a supportive and contributing member of the team
- Demonstrate knowledge of BK's philosophy and curriculum expectations
- Maintain accreditation standards and licensing regulations at all times
- Consistently demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
- Follow the dress code as stated in the Employee Manual
- Provides and follows proper diaper procedures as needed

Program Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement curriculum and program materials consistently and appropriately
- Planning a schedule that incorporates a balance of indoor/outdoor, quiet/active, individual/group and infant initiated/staff initiated activities
- Maintain positive learning environments
- Scheduled feeding of infants and changing of diapers
- Accommodate infants with food and/or environmental allergies
- Administer medications to infants as needed, within perimeters of BK's policy
- Assist and support when necessary
- Proactive in implementing best practices to the program
- Engage in professional development
- Participate in impromptu and scheduled safety drills with the infants
Classroom Responsibilities:
- Insure that classroom is safe at all times; conducting appropriate safety checks when needed
- Maintain and insure appropriate head count of infants at all times
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and seeks additional responsibility when appropriate
- Insure that classroom set up allows for ease of supervision and makes appropriate changes when necessary
- Perform appropriate housekeeping activities that will insure health and safety to children (ex: wiping spills, clearing debris, maintaining a neat environment, etc.)
- Wipe infant's faces and noses to keep a hygienic environment
Team and Family Interactions:
- Approach issues and problems through teamwork and collaborative efforts
- Address conflict in a fair, equitable and diplomatic manner
- Share ideas and information; research appropriate information

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in the center environment. Centers are dynamic with a high level of activity. Work may also be performed in the community on field trips.
- Must be able to lift up 30 lbs. and stand for up to 95% of the day
- Assume posture at low levels, stoop, sit on floor and bend down numerous times per day
- Agility to move from seated to standing position quickly to respond to infant's needs
- Perform all activities with infant for prolonged periods
- Can perform all duties both indoors and outdoors
- Possess acceptable hearing and vision capabilities in order to monitor wellbeing of infant
- Work hours may vary to accommodate needs of infant and families
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
