Start:

As soon as the right fit is found We are a warm, active family in Palo Alto looking for an exceptional full-time Nanny / Family Assistant to primarily support our 10-year-old daughter. She speaks two languages, is in 5th grade, and is bright, social, funny and active, with some physical mobility needs. She loves reading, swimming, horseback riding, adaptive skiing, games and spending time with friends. She uses a walker and canes and needs hands-on assistance with some daily activities, so we are looking for someone who is confident, patient, energetic and interested in helping her become as independent as possible. The Role The position will generally include morning and after-school coverage , with additional family-assistant hours during the day to create a full-time schedule.

Typical responsibilities include:

Helping with morning and after-school routines Assisting with dressing, toileting, bathing and other personal care as needed Assisting with walking, transfers and mobility Helping carry over stretching, strengthening and therapy activities at home Driving to and from school, therapies and activities Homework help and after-school activities Preparing simple meals and snacks Children's laundry, organization and tidying Light family-assistant duties and errands Occasional help transporting our other child Occasional evenings and weekends Travel for medical therapies and family trips, including Los Angeles and international travel Who We'd Love to Find We are looking for someone who is reliable, positive, physically capable, proactive and fun , and who sees this as more than simply a nanny position. Experience with children with physical disabilities or additional needs is highly valued. Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy experience—or an interest in learning—would be amazing. However, you do not need to be an OT or PT. A willingness to learn from our daughter's PT/OT team and confidently incorporate recommended goals and activities into everyday life is important. Requirements Prior childcare, caregiving, therapy or related experience Comfortable providing respectful, hands-on personal care Comfortable assisting with walking and mobility Valid driver's license and safe driving record Reliable and punctual, including early mornings Legally authorized to work in the United States Able and willing to travel domestically and internationally Strong communication skills Long-term commitment strongly preferred Why This Position Is Special We are looking for someone who can become an important part of our daughter's team while still allowing her to simply be a 10-year-old kid. Our goal is to help her build independence, confidence and responsibility while participating fully in school, friendships, activities and family life. For someone interested in pediatrics, OT/PT, special education or adaptive care, this is also an opportunity to gain meaningful one-on-one experience while making a real difference in a child's everyday life.
