South | Part-Time | Monday-Friday The Shasta Family YMCA is seeking a caring, dependable Montessori Pre-School Teacher Aide to help create a safe, engaging, and welcoming learning environment for young children. If you enjoy supporting children's growth, encouraging curiosity, and working as part of a positive team, we'd love to hear from you. In this role, you will work alongside the teacher and Family Services Manager to support Montessori-based activities, daily routines, classroom organization, and meaningful interactions with children and families. What You'll Do Provide attentive supervision, positive guidance, and encouragement for children throughout the day Assist with Montessori learning activities, classroom routines, transitions, meals, and field trips Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and inviting classroom environment Support attendance, child counts, meal counts, lesson-plan records, and daily communication journals Build positive relationships with children, families, and YMCA coworkers Participate in staff meetings, trainings, safety practices, and ongoing professional development Help care for classroom materials, equipment, and supplies Promote the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility What We're Looking For Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent Experience working with children in an organized setting preferred Six or more Early Childhood Education units preferred A warm, patient, reliable, and team-oriented approach Commitment to child safety, inclusion, and positive youth development Ability to actively engage with children indoors and outdoors, including regularly lifting or moving up to 30 pounds Requirements After Hire DOJ/FBI Live Scan clearance Health screening and TB test within 7 days EMSA-approved CPR/First Aid certification within 15 days Child Abuse Prevention and Reporting Training within 60 days Schedule and Environment This is a part-time, non-exempt position with shifts available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and/or 12:30-5:00 p.m. Work takes place in classroom, gymnasium, and outdoor settings.
