Job Description

Infant Assistant Teacher We are seeking a caring, dependable, and nurturing Infant Assistant Teacher to join our Montessori school. This position supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, calm, and loving environment for infants while supporting each child's individual development and daily routine.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00
PMPosition:
Full-Time Qualifications Minimum of 6 completed ECE units Experience working with infants in a childcare or preschool setting preferred Must be dependable, punctual, patient, and nurturing Ability to work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff Comfortable caring for infants throughout all aspects of their daily routine Must meet all California childcare licensing requirements, including required background clearances and health requirements Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with the daily care and supervision of infants Provide attentive, responsive, and nurturing care Prepare and give bottles and assist with feeding Change diapers and maintain accurate diapering and feeding records Support individual nap and feeding schedules Comfort and soothe infants appropriately Engage infants in age-appropriate activities that support physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom Clean and sanitize bottles, toys, materials, and classroom surfaces as needed Assist with classroom setup and closing responsibilities Maintain active supervision and follow all health and safety procedures Communicate professionally and respectfully with teachers, administration, and families Follow Montessori principles and classroom practices under the guidance of the Lead Teacher Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required Physical Requirements Must be able to regularly sit on the floor, bend, kneel, stand, and move throughout the classroom. Must also be able to safely lift and carry infants and perform the physical duties associated with infant care. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with infants, is reliable, and wants to be part of a supportive Montessori school community.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
