Job Description

Part Time Chess Teaching Assistant MarinChess Location:
Rohnert Park, CA $20-30/hour MarinChess is looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support our After-School Chess Classes in Rohnert Park. We especially welcome college students who enjoy working with children in a fun, after-school environment. No prior teaching experience is required. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside our Lead Instructors to help supervise students, support activities, and ensure a safe, engaging, and well-organized after-school experience. Teaching Assistants should be available for multiple sessions, with opportunities for long-term involvement.
Who We're Looking For:
Enjoys working with K-8 students in an after-school setting Positive, patient, and dependable attitude Strong communication and teamwork skills Comfortable supervising groups of children Reliable transportation to the program location in Rohnert Park Experience working with children in groups (after-school programs, camps, tutoring, mentoring, or childcare is a plus)
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Support Lead Instructors during after-school chess classes Help supervise students during games, activities, and transitions Assist students individually to keep them engaged and supported Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of materials Represent MarinChess professionally when interacting with families and school staff About Us MarinChess is the leading provider of after-school chess programs in the San Francisco Bay Area, offering engaging and educational chess instruction at over 100 elementary and middle schools. Our mission is to make chess accessible to all students while equipping them with valuable life skills like critical thinking, decision-making, and resilience.
