Prepares appropriate materials; supports students in general and special education settings; collects daily progress data when needed and consults with staff on a regular basis. Positions assigned to this class are distinguished from an Instructional Assistant primarily by the relative independence of action and intensity of the instructional requirements (academic and behavioral). Following training in specific programs and techniques, the Special Education Instructional Assistant II typically works directly with students according to a highly structured plan. Due to the special nature of the population, the behavioral and instructional components of the program are often individualized and require precise adherence. Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

Possess a High School diploma or GED certificate, and Complete 48 semester units though an accredited college or university, or Possess an AA degree or higher, or Demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and math, as certified by passing score on an exam issued by a designated agency Advanced training in areas of behavior management (ABA procedures), social skills training, implementation of behavior support plans and behavior intervention plans First Aid and CPR certificate; Additional training in de-escalation techniques and physical restraint practices Resume Cover Letter CPR/First Aide Certificate 2-3 Letters of Reference Requirements /
