We are seeking a caring, dependable, and collaborative Short Term Kindergarten Aide to support our Kindergarten classroom during the 2026-2027 school year. Position Overview The Kindergarten Aide will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide attentive supervision, reinforce classroom routines, and support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of young learners. The ideal candidate will be patient, flexible, and committed to creating a safe, joyful, and nurturing classroom environment consistent with the mission and values of Catholic education. Position Details This is a temporary, short-term position. The anticipated start date, duration, and daily schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Responsibilities  Actively support and uphold the mission and philosophy of St. Robert Catholic School  Assist the Kindergarten teacher with classroom instruction, activities, centers, and transitions  Provide individual and small-group support under the direction of the classroom teacher  Reinforce classroom expectations and help students develop positive routines and independence  Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, restroom breaks, and other assigned duties  Prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials and learning spaces  Support students with age-appropriate personal care needs while maintaining dignity and safety  Help maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment  Communicate student needs or concerns promptly and professionally to the classroom teacher and administration  Maintain student confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures  Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or principal Qualifications  High school diploma or equivalent required  Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, parish, camp, or similar setting  Patience, warmth, reliability, and strong organizational skills  Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively as part of a school team  Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills  Ability to actively supervise children and respond calmly to student needs  Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment  Willingness to support Catholic values and traditions  Ability to meet all Archdiocesan employment and safe-environment requirements Preferred Qualifications  College coursework in early childhood education, child development, or elementary education  Prior experience in a Kindergarten or early elementary classroom  Experience in a Catholic school setting  Current first aid and CPR certification Compensation Compensation will be based on experience and the applicable Archdiocese of San Francisco pay scale. Eligibility for benefits, if any, will depend on the length and schedule of the temporary assignment.
