About us Do you have or are you working towards ECE units? We are looking for substitute teachers who can help support our small Montessori school when our wonderful crew of teachers need to take vacations/breaks/are out sick.

An ideal sub would:

Be open to be contacted on an as-needed basis (for cover ranging from a few hours to consecutive weeks over the summer). Want to build a relationship with our small school - our staff are lovely and treat subs kindly and respectfully. You will be seen as part of the team. Be reliable, professional and be willing to learn on the job. Montessori is a wonderful learning style and subbing is a perfect way to discover more about it. We pay our subs $25+ per hour dependent on experience. To apply you MUST have a minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education units or be enrolled in an ECE program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Our children: Assuring the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times Gently guiding the children into appropriate, productive activities Communicating clearly and respectfully with students, parents, staff, and community members Working with students under the direct supervision of the Headteacher Providing appropriate written reports immediately following any accidents or unusual incidents In and around our classroom: Helping the Headteacher maintain the Montessori environment Helping to maintain the cleanliness and completeness of materials in the classroom and the outside environment. The cleanliness and beauty of the prepared environment are the cornerstones of our Montessori classroom. To accomplish this requires daily washing of tables and chairs, vacuuming and a very general clean up of the facility. We have a janitorial service for the bathrooms and deeper cleaning Learning and theory: Following the guidelines of the Midtown Montessori Employee Handbook and the 10 Guidelines of Maria Montessori Familiar with and following all licensing requirements MUST have a minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education or be enrolled in ECE units to apply Our staff is an experienced, dedicated, supportive and close group of educators who will support you in the role.
