This role helps students develop the administrative, communication, and professional skills necessary to succeed in today's healthcare settings. The ideal candidate combines real-world healthcare experience with a passion for teaching and student success. Essential Responsibilities Deliver live, instructor-led virtual classes in accordance with the approved curriculum. Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials that support student learning outcomes. Teach administrative medical assisting topics, including medical office procedures, scheduling, medical records, insurance, billing fundamentals, customer service, professionalism, and healthcare communication. Foster an engaging, respectful, and inclusive virtual classroom environment. Monitor student attendance, participation, and academic progress. Evaluate assignments, quizzes, projects, and examinations in a timely manner. Provide constructive feedback, academic support, and encouragement to students. Maintain accurate academic records and documentation. Utilize the institution's Learning Management System and other instructional technology platforms. Participate in faculty meetings, training, and professional development activities. Maintain compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three years of recent experience in administrative medical assisting, medical office administration, healthcare administration, medical reception, patient services, or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR), scheduling, insurance verification, patient registration, HIPAA, and medical office procedures. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong computer proficiency and ability to effectively utilize virtual meeting platforms and learning management systems. Reliable high-speed internet connection and an appropriate home office environment. Preferred Postsecondary teaching or training experience. Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent). Experience with online or hybrid instruction. Familiarity with competency-based or career education programs.
