After School Teacher or Aide

Overview:

Join our dedicated team as an After-School Teacher at Valle Verde Children's Center. Our school year hours of Operation are 7 am-6 pm. The hours for the position would be MTTHF 2:15 pm

• approximately 5:00-5:30 pm, and Wednesdays 1:15 pm
• approximately 5:00-5:30 pm.

We are a play-based program. We are committed to providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our students. As an after-school teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning through play. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives. We are a year-round program; we are open during school closure days and closed during all major holidays. Our school closure days and summer hours of operation are 8 am

• 5:30 pm.

Duties:

• Create and implement or facilitate projects that align with the school curriculum and standards.
• Provide instruction in various subjects to students, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Manage classroom activities, including group projects, discussions, and individual assignments.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student development and address any concerns or challenges.

Skills:

• Proficiency in childcare practices and child development theories.
• Experience in special education or behavior management is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Previous experience in a group care setting or related fields is beneficial.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and teaching methodologies.
• Passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
